The mother of tragic teen Jay Slater has posted an update on the GoFundMe page which saw close to £60,000 (€71,000) raised to help the family hunt for the 19-year-old. It was confirmed this week that a body found in Tenerife was that of the missing apprentice bricklayer. The tragic discovery was made close to the village of Masca in Tenerife on Monday.

Spanish police said initially that all evidence pointed towards it being Jay, and that he'd died accidentally after suffering a fall. It also emerged the body was found alongside his clothes and personal belongings, close to where his phone last pinged on Monday, June 17. The Canary Islands Higher Court of Justice today confirmed the body has been identified as missing Jay Slater.
