A newly-discovered image taken at a rave in Tenerife shows missing teenager Jay Slater just hours before he vanished. The blurry picture shows the 19-year-old apprentice bricklayer partying at the NRG festival on Sunday night, June 16. After leaving the event with two men he had befriended, he spent the night at an Airbnb in a mountainous nature reserve, and disappeared shortly after leaving on foot the next morning.

He later made a call to a friend telling her he was lost, and his mobile phone was about to run out of power. His phone's last live location was the vast Rural de Teno Park in the north west of the island at around 8.30am - and Jay, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, has not been seen or heard from since.

Today, June 22, investigators have been seen removing rubbish from the rave area. Police were joined by rescue dogs and firefighters as they continued the search for the teenager around Rural de Teno Park, which is known to be dangerous due to its rocky terrain and extreme conditions. Close attention was also paid to a river called Barranco Madre del Agua at the bottom of a ravine, where personnel with sticks carefully searched through fallen dead palm trees, .

Jay's mum, Debbie Duncan, who flew out to Tenerife on Tuesday, described searching for her son was "an absolute living nightmare". Speaking to News, Ms Duncan said: "He's the life and soul, he's a beautiful boy." Jay was last seen by the owner of the Airbnb as he left the accommodation on Monday.
