Sunday, June 9, 2024 Minor Hotels , a leading global hotel owner and operator, has appointed Gonzalo Aguilar as the Chief Executive Officer for Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, effective January 1, 2025, in a strategic move to strengthen its leadership team. Aguilar will succeed Ramón Aragonés, who has served as CEO since 2009 when the group was known as NH Hotel Group. Aragonés, celebrated for his transformative leadership, will transition to Non-Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, continuing to lend his expertise to the company.
Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and President of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, praised Aragonés for his extensive contributions to the group’s evolution into a hospitality powerhouse and welcomed Aguilar’s appointment, highlighting his industry expertise and successful track record as vital for advancing Minor Hotels’ strategic vision. Aguilar began his hospitality career in 1994 at Marriott, where he held various roles, most recently serving as COO for EMEA. His tenure included significant achievements, such as the seamless integration of AC Hotels post-acquisition.
With deep knowledge of multi-brand and asset-light strategies in Europe and the Americas, Aguilar is set to lead Minor Hotels into its next growth phase. Minor Hotels expects Aguilar’s leadership to reinforce its position as a frontrunner in the global hospitality industry..
