It might not go down well at the local gym, but Miley Cyrus exercises wearing heels. The singer, 31, says it cheers her up to train in designer heels, and help her get through her gruelling workouts. “My mantra is, like any athlete, ‘Practise how you perform’.

So that’s why I practise in my heels," she says. “The gym looks really tough, but then I’ve got my ivory Gucci slingbacks because they remind me of Marilyn Monroe. I train in heels, mostly.

I’m interested in feminising the workout space, because so much of the workout equipment is ugly.” Covering a treadmill in glitter seems a safer option. Miley has become a “fitspiration” influencer, thanks to her toned body, but it’s not just tottering around in the gym that helps her achieve this.

“My lifestyle is extremely clean,” she tells W magazine. “Sobriety is a big part of it.” She continues that her work ethic began as a child, when she starred as Hannah Montana in the Disney series.

“I have been in the public for more of my life than I haven’t. I worked really hard as a child. I didn’t go to prom.

I didn’t go to dances. I didn’t have so much of that social experience or time for friends," she added. The Flowers singer, who is dating musician Maxx Morando, also tells the mag she still hasn’t decided if she wants children.

Miley has spoken open about her move to sobriety before. Having cultivated an incendiary persona, the Wrecking Ball hitmaker was forced to undergo surgery on her .
