Michael Mosley: BBC pays tribute to TV doctor in documentary Dr Michael Mosley’s wife shared a heartwarming message of thanks to fans who have sent thoughts and prayers to the family following his tragic death. The presenter and author went missing on the Greek island of Symi on June 5, prompting his wife Dr Clare Bailey to alert the local authorities. His body was recovered on June 9 and it is believed he took a wrong turn after leaving the town of Pedi.

Dr Mosley’s death struck a devastating chord amongst his wide range of TV colleagues, as he was beloved for many appearances on BBC programmes including The One Show. His wife Dr Bailey has now taken to Instagram to thank fans for their outpouring of support over the last weeks. “The outpouring of love from so many people has meant a huge amount to me and my family. “I'm going to be quiet for a while. I’m sure you will understand.

But I will be back here soon. I very much want to continue with the work that gave Michael and myself so much joy and such a sense of purpose. “Once more thank you so much for respecting my family's privacy so kindly.

“Michael was an amazing man. Thank you for seeing that too. We miss him so much.
