Three weeks after McDonald’s shook up the fast food world with its $5 Meal Deal , the chain has come up with three more limited-time offers. One of them is a collaboration with the anime series “Jujutsu Kaisen.” It’s called Special Grade Garlic Sauce, and it’s sold with 10-piece Chicken McNuggets exclusively through the McDonald’s app.
The condiment is adapted from Black Garlic Sauce from McDonald’s Japan and contains garlic and soy sauce with a slight tangy sweetness, according to a news release. The sauce comes in black containers with lids featuring a tiny image of one of eight “Jujutsu Kaisen” characters. Each purchase includes a 30-day free trial of Crunchyroll, an anime platform, the news release said.
This partnership follows a similar one with the manga series “Cat’s Eye” in late February. In addition to hot sauce packets, that promotion included an immersive experience in West Hollywood . After surfing half a dozen locations, I got lucky with an outlet in a Walmart Supercenter 9 miles and 14 minutes away.
The cost was $5.59 plus tax .
