Matthew McConaughey has said he almost quit Hollywood over the pressures of being typecast in rom-com roles. The 54-year-old actor told Interview magazine he felt a “sense of insignificance” when being asked to continuously star in films such as The Wedding Planner, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and Failure To Launch. McConaughey got his break in Hollywood with a supporting role in 1993’s Dazed And Confused, before he shot to fame in starring roles in the likes of Interstellar, Dallas Buyers Club and Magic Mike. “I had long talks with my wife about needing to find a new vocation, ‘I think I’m going to teach high school classes. I think I’m going to study to be a conductor. I think I’m going to go be a wildlife guide’.
