After conquering the box office with her husband Dingdong Dantes in the dramatic time travel movie Rewind, Marian Rivera shared with fans her excitement about the movie "Balota," which she just wrapped up for Cinemalaya 2024. It will be shown during the annual festival of independent films this coming August.

With pride, Marian spoke about the professional fulfillment of her role in the Cinemalaya movie. She described it as a groundbreaking experience for three significant reasons. Fans can anticipate a Marian they've never seen before, a departure from her usual blockbuster movies and television, a testament to her versatility and dedication to her craft.

"Sobrang excited ako kasi dito ko nagawa lahat ng first time ko. No makeup, as in ayaw ni Direk ng naka-makeup. Tapos ito yung mga linyahan na hindi ko pa nagagawa sa soap opera at saka sa pelikula.

Pangatlo, may mga fight scenes na hindi ako nagpadobol, kaya ang dami-dami kong sugat. Okay lang, sabi ko nga, gagaling at gagaling din. Ang importante naibigay ko ang 100 percent ko," the A-list actress stated.

"Balota" is Marian's first starring role in a Cinemalaya movie. She was only a guest star in the Vilma Santos starrer "Ekstra" shown during Cinemalaya in 2013. The Kapuso primetime queen said she enjoyed her experience so much that she couldn't wait to have another Cinemalaya movie again.
