Gurgaon: A 34-year-old woman working with a beauty parlour was shot at by two bike-borne assailants while she was riding her scooter on Dwarka Expressway on Friday night. Four persons, including her lawyer friend, were arrested on the charge of attempt to murder. The woman is currently undergoing treatment at a local private hospital, police said.
Pallavi Sharma, police said, lives with her two children in an apartment in Sector 102. She and her husband have been living separately for the past two years. Around 9pm on Friday, she left her flat to go to a market on her scooter.
When she reached near Bharat petrol pump off the Dwarka Expressway, two bike-borne assailants came from behind and shot at her. “The bullet pierced through her back and exited her stomach,” said a senior police official. As Pallavi fell off the scooter, the assailants fled the scene.
Passersby rushed her to Vibranth Hospital in Sector 100 and informed police and her family members, who live in Lado, Punjab. “As Pallavi was not in a condition to give a statement on Friday night, a police team visited the hospital on Saturday,” an officer said. “Pallavi’s father has filed a complaint.
A case was registered under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) and under the Arms Act on Saturday,” said inspector Yashvir Singh. “On Saturday, the Palam Vihar crime branch team arrested four persons from Sector 14 around 5pm. The accused were identified as Nitish Bhardwaj, an advocate from Vishnu Garden, Gu.
