A major update has been issued about this year's Trooping the Colour following fears the royal spectacle might not have gone ahead. The event, also known as the King's Birthday Parade, traditionally involves the royal family , including King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales , gathering on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after a display of pomp and military pageantry. Last week, it was revealed that the royals have postponed some engagements "which may appear to divert attention or distract from the election campaign" after Rishi Sunak last week called a surprise summer General Election for July 4.
