AN urgent public transport warning has been issued to thousands of Irish passengers ahead of the busy June Bank Holiday weekend. There are a number of timetable changes to both Bus Éireann and Expressway services. The bus company said that on Bank Holiday Monday, June 3, all services will operate on a Sunday schedule.
This includes Bus Éireann’s inter-regional Expressway service, which connects Dublin and Ballina, Cavan, Donegal, Dundalk, Letterkenny, Monaghan, Sligo, Waterford and Wexford, as well as services including Cork, Galway, Limerick and Tralee. Bus Éireann said it “strongly encourages” passengers to book their guaranteed seat on the Expressway. And they will also benefit from the five per cent discount for online bookings.
The bus company added: “With many festivals and events taking place this bank holiday weekend, including the Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin on Sunday, June 2, intending passengers are advised to check the service updates section of our website for the latest road closures and travel information. “Real Time Passenger Information is available on the TFI Live app and at the expressway.ie.
“Bus Éireann customer care agents will be available on 0818 836611.” Dublin bus services will run to normal timetables on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, with some diversions on some routes on Sunday due to the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon. Nitelink services will operate on Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1.
