Friday, May 31, 2024 Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, an independent hospitality group, has funded 15,000 school meals for children in countries like Kenya through a new partnership with direct trade coffee producers Paddy & Scott’s. The Lunch Box program by Paddy & Scott’s, now implemented across all Macdonald Hotels & Resorts venues, aims to provide meals for children in coffee-growing regions worldwide. Under this partnership, Lunch Box coffee is served at all 32 Macdonald Hotels & Resorts properties in the UK.

Guests can support this charitable initiative by enjoying breakfast, afternoon tea, or a light refreshment at any hotel. Each bag of coffee funds a meal for a child in Kenya through The Muchomba Project and other coffee-growing regions globally. The Muchomba Project, a collaboration between a Kenyan coffee farm and Ipswich-based Paddy & Scott’s, supports life-changing initiatives in the Kenyan farming community.

Currently, the project is funding improvements at the local school, such as installing windows, toilets, and providing clean drinking water. Michael Savage, Head of Energy & Sustainability at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, said: “Paddy & Scott’s work to support communities aligns seamlessly with our values, and we’re proud to now stock Lunch Box coffee in all our properties throughout the UK. By doing this, we can make a real difference and change young people’s lives in the locations where our coffee is sourced.

“We’re looking forward to growing t.
