Sunday, May 26, 2024 The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is set to organize the “Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR – International Cities of Gastronomy Fest” from June 14 to 23. A key event during this celebration will be the “International Gastronomy Forum, Macao,” scheduled for June 17 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf. This marks the Forum’s first occurrence post-pandemic and aims to assemble delegates from Creative Cities of Gastronomy worldwide, catering industry leaders, and other influential figures to discuss the integration of gastronomy with wellness and sustainable gastronomic practices.

The Forum intends to spotlight Macao’s role as a platform for preserving gastronomic culture and fostering international collaboration among the Creative Cities of Gastronomy. It will feature two panel sessions and a meeting for exchanging ideas, focusing on the theme “Holistic Gastronomy: Eat well, live well.” Since being designated a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2017, MGTO has actively contributed to Macao’s profile in this field through continuous participation in global events and alignment with the “1 + 4” economic diversification strategy.
