TORRINGTON – Lydia Marie Cifaldi Leone, 100, of Torrington, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024. She was the wife of the late Carmine Leone. Lydia was born on May 7, 1924 and recently celebrated her centennial birthday with her family.

Lydia was a source of strength, tradition, inspiration, and family values. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed having her family around her for holidays, birthdays, and Sunday dinners. Her sauce and meatballs were a family favorite and her lasagna could not be matched.

She loved her flowers; all kinds of flowers. Her front porch displaying her flowers was a source of pride. She was an avid, lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, UConn basketball men’s and women’s fan, and Boston Celtics fan.

It is a comfort knowing she saw the UConn men and the Celtics win championships this year. Lydia’s legacy will be carried on by her daughter Jo-Ann (Dave), and two sons, Tom (Lynn) and Rich (Lina); along with seven grandchildren, Kelly, Kim (Keith), Samantha, Erica (Nick), Michael (Sarah), Christa, and Zachary; and four great-grandchildren, Katey (Kyle), Matt, Kaia, and Harper. Lydia lived a beautiful, long life well spent with those who meant the most to her.

She will live on in many wonderful memories, and traditions and in the hearts of her family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the 4th and 5th floors of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, as well as the hospice staff for the wonderful, .
