The drama on “Love Island USA” Season Six is heating up — and it’s just the first week. During the premiere on June 11, viewers were introduced to new host Ariana Madix, a renovated villa and the 10 original cast members hoping to find love this summer. For the newest season, the Peacock series decided to diverge from tradition and instead had all the islanders meet for the first time in their formal wear at night, straying from the typical bikini introductions during the day.
After the women strutted into the Fijian villa and chatted with Madix, the men all arrived at the same time and shared a few details about themselves. Then, in another unexpected moment, Madix revealed that the islanders would get to play an icebreaker, which involved plenty of kisses, before coupling up. By the end of the game, there appeared to be sparks between some of the contestants and everyone coupled up.
But the islanders were surprised again when they learned at the end of the episode that a new "bombshell" — the show's term for newcomer — was on her way. Since then, two more bombshells have also moved into the villa, leading to multiple love triangles in just a few episodes. All summer long, new contestants will enter the villa and hope to form a lasting connection.
But an endless stream of new islanders means that plenty of contestants will be dumped from the island over the next six weeks. New episodes will be released Thursdays through Tuesdays at 6 p.m.
