Love Island fans were far from impressed by the latest recoupling as they ended up branding the ITV2 show a "fix". Samantha Kenny was brutally dumped from the villa on Tuesday night after Grace Jackson stole Joey Essex from her. Bombshells were given the first picks at the recoupling, leaving Grace to swoop in on her ex Joey.
In recent episodes, the former flames were seen rekindling their romance despite Joey still being with Samantha. They didn't hide their passionate songs and even spent the night in the Hideaway together. Joey and Grace are believed to have dated for six weeks earlier this year and still harbour feelings for each other.
Samantha was the last Islander standing after the recoupling, meaning she was left single. It was then brutally revealed she had been dumped from the show. Viewers quickly took to X as they claimed Joey and Samantha were always going to get together from the moment she entered the villa.
One fan said: "As they intend for Joey and Grace to become fan favorites (fixed) they had to get rid of Samantha because she wasn’t making them look good." Love Island 2024 has begun.
