During a recent episode of ITV's Lorraine , viewers were treated to an exclusive tour of Buckingham Palace's East Wing by the show's host. Unexpectedly though, she unveiled a secret passage within the Palace precincts. Whilst showcasing the exquisite features in the White Drawing Room, 64-year=old Lorraine pointed out a large mirror.
She said: "This room also hides a fantastic secret. If I walk over here, you can see it looks like a beautiful mirror, it's absolutely gorgeous. But, there's something very special about this huge mirror.
" She revealed that a large cabinet standing in front of the mirror served as a handle. "You can pull it out, I'm not going to pull it right out, it's actually a hidden doorway." She then proceeded to disclose where this formerly hidden passageway led to, "The doorway leads to the Royal Family's private apartments in there! "The King, of course, can use it to enter or leave the room discreetly whenever he so wishes.
Isn't that great? ", reports the Express . Not all viewers were amused by the revelation. A discontented viewer questioned on Twitter : "Why has she just given away a secret door and where it goes to? Isn't that breaking security codes? " However, the sharing of the palace's secret appeared to not be the main point of discussion among the viewers.
