After 14 years of dedicated service in private practice, Dr. Gandhari Loomis is leaving Table Rock Family Medicine in Glen Alpine to embrace a new full-time role at UNC Health Blue Ridge. On April 29, Dr.

Loomis sent a heartfelt letter about her resignation to her patients. She will be the full-time executive medical director of Blue Ridge Medical Group (BRMG), which has more than 140 providers across primary care and specialty offices in Burke, McDowell and Caldwell counties. This new role will allow her to continue her commitment to providing quality health care in our region.

“The opportunity to use my medical knowledge and skills on a greater level to improve the quality of care provided in our region is an exciting professional prospect,” Loomis said. “The decision to leave the practice was not made lightly and was strongly based on personal reasons about what is best for my wellbeing and that of my beloved family.” Her interest in process improvement and health care innovation played a role in her decision to take on the new position.

She will provide professional guidance to clinicians and the BRMG administration on matters relating to BRMG’s mission to work toward optimal high-value patient care while improving physician and APP experience and engagement. This position will assist with the management and advancement of the clinical practice performance of clinicians.
