At 5ft1”, hemlines are always a pain point, meaning I approach every purchase (be it trousers, jeans, skirts or dresses), with the knowledge that I will, most likely, need to whip out my sewing machine or get it tailored.

As for styling, this season I’ll be emulating model Ilana de Bruijn at Dries Van Noten’s show, who opened wearing long, sand-hued shorts and a stripy bralette – an easy, holiday-ready look. Miu Miu’s collection is also in my camera roll: specifically, the preppy, low-slung shorts which were paired with polo tops, shirts, sweaters and the brand’s sought-after boat shoes and cord sandals. Scroll on for some of the best long shorts I’ve come across this season.
