Saturday, May 25, 2024 London Stansted is gearing up for a busy week as thousands of Brits embark on their bank holiday weekend and half-term break. From May 25 to June 2, the airport will see around 430,000 passengers, including sun-seekers and city-breakers. Over the three-day weekend, nearly 150,000 travelers are expected to fly out, with 50,000 departures on Saturday alone.
With the influx of international visitors using Stansted as their entry point to the UK, the airport will handle over 845,000 passengers during the half-term holiday. Top sun destinations include the Canary Islands, Turkey, Spain, Italy, and Dubai, while Dublin, Edinburgh, and Barcelona are popular choices for city breaks. Jon Fowler, London Stansted’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “With places not as busy as during the peak summer season and pleasant temperatures in many of the destinations we serve at this time of year, the spring half-term break is a popular time to get away.
We’ve a busy week ahead so the advice as always is to allow good time for your journey to the airport and prepare for the security checks before leaving home to avoid any unnecessary delays.” London Stansted is offering an array of exciting new routes this summer. Travelers can enjoy Royal Jordanian’s service to Amman, British Airways flights to Nice, Florence, and Ibiza, along with numerous additional destinations from Ryanair, Jet2.
