Schneider, 33, will compete against some of the best pizza chefs in the world, including last year’s winner and three-time champion Franco Pepe of Pepe in Grani restaurant in Caiazzo, Italy. “It’s a pretty big deal,” Schneider says of his nomination. The 200 finalists, half of which are composed from last year’s list and the other half of which are new entries, come from all over the world, including Mexico, Japan, Spain, America and Malaysia.
