DEI matters within the halls of government Our Diversity is our strength. As a Boulderite I am proud to be a member of this community. A community that values equity, diversity and inclusion.
I have noticed a lot of letters to the editor announcing which gatekeeper or gatekeeping groups endorse which candidate this June Primary. Boulder voters are smarter than that. And as a Boulder voter and neighbor, I will follow our Boulder values as I cast my ballot this June.
I will be voting for Charles “CJ” Johnson, Representative Junie Joseph, Jovita Schiffer and Max Woodfin. I am voting for these four candidates because they represent the ideals that we all value. Aside from his superior education and extensive work as a CU Trustee, I will be voting for CJ for CU Regent because we have never been represented by a black man in the history of the CU Regency.
Students deserve role models who look like them. I am supporting State Representative Junie Joseph because she has done a great job representing us at the state Capitol passing 36 bills to ensure access to housing, climate resiliency and criminal justice. I am supporting Jovita and Max because we need fresh perspectives.
We need new and younger people in government. I hope you will join me in voting for Charles “CJ” Johnson, Representative Junie Joseph, Jovita Schiffer and Max Woodfin on your Ballot. Diversity, equity and inclusion matter within the halls of government to ensure all of us are served.
Kenneth Flowe, Boulder.
