Per Beth Burright’s and Ralph Wyman’s letters to the editor on June 10, they are right on. As far as I’m concerned, Mr. Jake Porritt, who has proposed more than a handful of projects in Dillon, should move on to another town before he ruins the town.
A currently beautiful mountain town would become something we will not recognize if he continues with his plans. I can’t understand why anybody on the Dillon Town Council would support and promote his ideas. I know change is mostly a good thing, but we don’t need this kind of change.
The Best Western is exactly what a Dillon hotel should look like — one or two stories of rooms, surrounded by trees, enough parking space for customers, blending in with the mountain environment — not a glass-and-chrome, five-story monstrosity..
