Lauryn and Jake, from the NSW Southern Highlands, had accepted they may never experience a wedding after a series of family tragedies and a home robbery led to them abandoning their special day on more than one occasion.
The pair agreed that they wanted a casual and fuss-free wedding when they got engaged in 2022 . Lauryn said they decided to decided on a whim to get married on Moreton Island, just off south east Queensland , in July 2023. They booked a cruise there, saying it would be like a wedding and honeymoon in one, and organised a party where they would announce their nuptials to their friends and extended family upon their return.
Lauryn and Jake finally tied the know, with some help from the team at WSFM They set a date set, sourced a celebrant, bought Lauryn's dream dress and a suit for Jake, planning to elope with just immediate family. But just three days bef.
