Lakshya says people recognized Kill actors and team after TIFF premiere: “Initially, no one knew us there”

Newbie Lakshya is gearing up for his big-screen debut in the highly anticipated action thriller Kill, produced by Bollywood giants Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment. The film, slated for release on July 5, 2024, promises an adrenaline-pumping experience with intense action sequences and a captivating story.Lakshya, along with his co-stars Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, recently attended the film's press screening in Mumbai. Reflecting on the experience, Lakshya shared a heartwarming anecdote highlighting Kill's impact on the audience. “Initially, no one knew us there,” he told PTI. “People knew Karan Johar, Raghav had fans, but not us. But after the screening of the film, we were called by its name Kill. So what could be the bigger victory than that?"He expressed his gratitude towards the film's creators for giving "outsiders" a chance to showcase their talent. “We all are from the outside of the industry,” he said. “I would thank Karan Johar, Nikhil sir and Guneet they judged us by our talents and got us in this film.”Kill premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year, receiving positive reviews from the audience and even securing the first runner-up spot in the People's Choice Award: Midnight Madness category.Kill revolves around a love story between Amrit (Lakshya) and Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) who face an arranged marriage challenge. He commended director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat's "relentless action sequences" and expressed excitement about bringing the story to a wider audience through an English remake. The remake was officially announced on July 1st.87Eleven Entertainment, renowned for blockbuster action films like John Wick, will collaborate with Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment on this project.
