The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira and the Queen of Ile-Ife, Her Royal Majesty, Olori Aderonke ADEWUYI-Ogunwusi , on Saturday, bagged leadership awards.
The awards were presented to the duo by the Tradesmen and Artisans Association, Lagos, on Saturday, at the 2024 Artisans Day Celebration held in Lagos. While Hon. Apatira received outstanding Leadership Award for his exemplary leadership, Olori Adewusi, a Nigerian fashion entrepreneur, bagged supportive leadership award of excellence .
Speaking at the event, Apatira, expressed his administration’s commitment to establishing Adire hub to support locally made fabrics. According to him, the hub will serve as a platform for artisans and tradesmen to showcase their skills and products. “T his initiative is aimed at promoting made in Nigeria fabrics as well as the economic growth and development in the community, ” he said.
Her Royal Majesty, Olori Aderonke ADEWUYI-Ogunwusi, was also honored with the Supportive Leadership Award of Excellence in recognition of her contributions to the growth and development of the community, particularly in the area of arts and culture.
