After about four hours of pulsating, breathtaking and inspiring performances, XMOB – a group of energetic, highly talented dancers – and the talented songster, Victory Mbagwu, emerged winners in the dancing and singing categories of this year’s edi- tion of K-pop Festival, an annual Korean dance and singing competition. The event was the grand finale of 2024 edition of K-Pop Festival in Nigeria. For about four hours, the serene Terra Kulture auditorium, Victoria Island, Lagos, venue of the dance feast, which featured 21 finalists competing in both dance and singing categories, erupted with excitement and celebration as the participating dancers and singers mounted the stage respectively, showcasing breathtaking performances.
K-Pop (Korean popular music) is a form of popular music originating in South Korea as part of South Korean culture. At the end, XMOB and Victory Mbagwu, emerged first prize winners in their respective categories – dancing and singing. While XMOB won the first prize in the dancing category with their performance of ‘Lalalala’ by Straykids, and went home with N700,000 and an LG 55-inch LED TV, Victory Mbagwu won the first prize in the singing category with her awe-inspiring rendition of ‘I Will Go To You Like The First Snow’ by Ailee, and received N400,000 and an LG 55-inch LED TV.
