Friday, May 31, 2024 Korean Air has achieved second place in the top 25 airlines globally according to the 2024 Airline Excellence Awards by AirlineRatings and has been recognized as the Best Long Haul Carrier in North Asia. Based in Australia, AirlineRatings.com evaluates more than 440 airlines using a variety of assessment criteria such as safety, product ratings, passenger feedback, fleet age, and environmental commitment.
In recent years, Korean Air received the titles “Cargo Airline of the Year” for 2022 and 2023, and “Best Airline in North Asia” in 2023. The airline has recently expedited the modernization of its fleet, investing in next-generation aircraft to enhance passenger comfort and fulfill its sustainability objectives. In March, Korean Air signed a deal with Airbus for 33 A350s.
Alongside fleet improvements, the airline has bolstered safety with stringent maintenance protocols, comprehensive crew training, and the integration of advanced technology to oversee flight operations. Korean Air has also upgraded its in-flight services by introducing new menu options, such as a Korean vegan meal, and partnering with renowned sommelier Marc Almert to expand its wine selection across all cabin classes. “Korean Air just gets better and better with passenger approval ratings.
The airline is at the forefront of innovation and it has invested in a young state-of-the-art fleet built around the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A321neos.” said Geoffrey Thomas, Editor-in-C.
