Kerry Katona and Abbey Clancy both broke down in tears as the former Atomic Kitten singer recalled some of the most traumatic experiences of her life. During a candid conversation with WAG Abbey, Kerry was reduced to tears as she candidly discussed her mum's struggle with self-harm and some heartbreaking moments from her chaotic childhood. The mum-of-five shared that her first "traumatic memory" was witnessing her mother Sue "slit her wrist" before being admitted to rehab.
Kerry wept as she disclosed a measure she had taken to ensure she would never follow the same path later in her adult life. Speaking on the Exhibit A podcast, hosted by Abbey, Kerry confessed that she still becomes "emotional and upset" when reflecting on the experience. She revealed that her mum's mental health issues made her feel "unloved" and "not wanted" during her childhood.
When asked about her earliest "heartbreaking memory", reality TV icon Kerry tragically admitted to Abbey: "Watching my mum slit her wrist. I can get emotional and upset about it now I'm older." She added: "I remember sitting in rehab and I couldn't believe I let myself get so low.
" "I kept thinking if this is in my DNA and if it is a genetic thing...
the one thing I never want my kids to feel is unloved or not wanted by me, because that's how I felt. So I thought if this is something that I might end up doing, I got Molly and Lilly tattooed on my wrist because I thought I'd be so selfish to put my kids through that no matter what'.
