Birth: December 21st, 1951 Death: June 2nd, 2024 Kathryn Bozell Brewster, 72, of Somers, Conn., wife of 52 years to Cyrus Brewster, died suddenly on Sunday, June 2, 2024. She passed in Spain while on holiday with her husband visiting two of her beloved brothers.

Kathy was born on December 21, 1951 in New Haven, Conn. to L. Brent Bozell II and Patricia Buckley Bozell, the second of 10 children.

Throughout her life, her parents and siblings would hold a central place in her mind and heart. Growing up in Virginia, Kathy also lived in Ávila, Spain for part of her childhood and young adulthood. There, she met her husband and best friend in 1970 as they studied in a small Catholic institute her father founded.

Though she had bright red hair, her perfect Spanish had many locals believe she was native-born, and earned her the nickname La Cardeñosa, referencing a small area in Ávila where many redheaded Spaniards live. This attunement to authenticity defined her. Whether in her flowers, Mozart, faith, or her children and grandchildren, Kathy forever sought out beauty.

She read always, wrote often, and welcomed conversation. Her words, written and spoken, served her greatest wish which was to keep everyone she loved connected to each other, to our selves, to our histories, and to God. Kathy’s life was spent knowing and loving each of her 11 children, as they were.

She bestowed her Catholic faith on them, teaching them by example to hold tight to the good, the true, and the beau.
