JUNTAE KIM SS25 Collaborates With Salomon for Four Exclusive Silhouettes

JUNTAE KIM has unveiled four exclusive collaborative customizations for its Spring/Summer 2025 collection. Customizing four of Salomon's signature silhouettes -- the XT-6, RX MOC, RX SLIDE and SNOWCROSS, each of the shoes receive JUNTAE KIM's signature elements.The Seoul-based designer has always championed the brand philosophy that surrounds the unravelling of binary constructions and the belief that true beauty is not about constraining the body, A gender fluid brand by trade, JUNTAE KIM began by reinterpreting traditional women's costumes as contemporary menswear to pursue his genderless fashion. By modernizing ancient textiles through contemporary silhouettes, JUNTAE KIM's SS25 collection titled "NEW ROMANTICS" pays homage to one of Vivienne Westwood's early collections, specifically the late-designer's inspiration of silhouettes and portrait paintings from the 17th and 19th century. Taking Vivienne's legendary punk-looking style and combining with a new-age romantic style, the collection slashes gender norms and is all about fluidity. The theme carries on to the shoes which are elevated by design and function. JUNTAE KIM's vision, intertwined with Salomon's hallmark durability gives sneaker fans unique perspective on footwear. The RX-MOC and SLIDE arrives with wing-like interpretations with the MOC coming in an understated grey and green tone while the SLIDE takes on a light blue color scheme. The SNOWCROSS sees an extended ankle, exaggerating the silhouette with JUNTAE KIM's winged theme in black and red colorways. Finally, the XT-6 continues with edgy and abstract details, arriving in a high-top and low-top version. Deconstructed uppers using leather zipper and button details complement the shoe's outdoor-focused silhouette, giving it a more a fashion forward approach.At the moment, JUNTAE KIM has not confirmed if these customizations will be on sale for the upcoming season, however, conversations are being had with Salomon.
