Birth: 1935 Death: 2024 Judith Mary O’Keefe peacefully passed away at the age of 89 in Pasadena, California after a period of declining health. Born April 21st, 1935, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Judy is survived by her sons John C. O’Keefe Jr.
of Pasadena and Timothy T. O’Keefe of Templeton, Ca., daughter in law Jennifer A.
O’Keefe of Templeton, and niece Helen Corey of Longmont, Colorado. Judy was preceded in death by her mother Helen P. Smith and father David P.
Smith of Pasadena, Ca. After graduating from Mayfield Junior and Senior Schools in Pasadena and Scripps College in Claremont, Ca., Judy began a career in the fashion industry working first for her parents at Helen Smith at its original location on Colorado Blvd.
, and at the Lake St. location years later. When her parents retired and sold the business, Judy became the women’s line representative for Pendleton Woolen Mills working with the independent retailers and major department stores.
Judy worked extremely hard and experienced great success during her time at Pendleton and was able to retire to focus on her true passion helping others involved with Alcoholic Anonymous.Judy became involved in AA in 1979 and was originally sponsored by her dear friend Alice Norris. Throughout the years Judy became an AA sponsor and mentor to many women involved in the program, rescuing them from their addiction and turning their lives around.
