Saturday, July 6, 2024 John Catlin is poised to capture his third Asian Tour victory of the season and his second title on The International Series, following a commanding performance in the third round of the US$2 million International Series Morocco. Catlin, who tops the Asian Tour Order of Merit and is second in The International Series Rankings, fired a five-under-par 68 to take the lead. He sits at 14-under, one stroke ahead of New Zealand’s Ben Campbell.

Campbell, last year’s Hong Kong Open champion, also carded a 68. Remarkably, he has now completed 105 holes—five rounds and six holes—without a single bogey on the Asian Tour. Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra matched their 68 and is one shot further back on the challenging Red Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat.

Catlin has maintained his lead throughout the tournament and continued his strong play today. Despite a bogey on the first hole, he recovered with six birdies and narrowly missed an eight-foot eagle putt on the driveable par-four 17th. Said the 33-year-old Californian: “I would say I’m in pretty good control.

You know I would have liked to start the round off a bit better, but after that I feel like I played some very, very solid golf and built some good momentum going into tomorrow.” He secured victories at the International Series Macau presented by Wynn and the Saudi Open presented by PIF back-to-back earlier this year. Catlin also made an impressive debut on the LIV Golf League, finishing join.
