John Bishop was performing stand-up comedy at a gig in Galway recently where he had a hilarious and heart-warming interaction with an elderly fan which ended in him apologising before landing a ruthless joke. The Liverpudlian stand-up comedian often engages with his audience on various topics related to his agenda on the night, and this night, he chose to speak to Francis and her daughter Anita, Galway Beo writes. After beginning the conversation by asking her name, she replied "Francis", and this was the start of the hilarity.

She almost immediately said that her mother is 92 years old, stirring a visible sense of mortification on John's part for the language he had been using until that point. "Oh Jesus, Francis you're 92 and you've come to my show.

I've used the 'C' word twice in the first five minutes," John said as the crowd laughed. "I feel like I need to go to confession. I feel so terrible, I'm so sorry and thank you for coming.

" But it turns out Francis is a big fan of John's and when she heard that he would be in Galway for a show, Francis urged her daughter to sort out tickets. It was at this point that John unleashed the harsh but funny joke to Francis and Anita, of which both thankfully saw the funny sid.
