has revealed she sought advice from a former lead of as she turned to Michelle Young to help her she's been facing. The 26-year-old has been announced as , but she was sadly forced to reach out for support after being met with vile comments online. "I really wanted a perspective from a person of color and just get to know what her experience was like and where to kind of go with it," Jenn said.
She expressed her concern about being in the spotlight and the potential for racial backlash. She said she reached out to Michelle as she wanted to understand how she handled similar situations. Michelle, who was very supportive, offered valuable advice.
Jen told E! News: "She was really great with a lot of good guidance. She was like, 'There are gonna be haters out there, there's gonna be racism out there, but know that you're doing it for a reason and be strong-willed'." Michelle, 31, had been in a similar position when she prepared for her stint on season 18 of The Bachelorette, becoming the second black woman to lead the show after Rachel Lindsay in season 13.
"We're both in the same mindset in that we both want to keep making change happen," Jenn explained. "And if we're the people who are spearheading that, then all the better." The New Jersey-born star, first graced our screens in season 28 of The Bachelor with Joey Graziadei and while she may have waved goodbye in week seven, she's nothing but thankful for the path it paved.
