The mother of the late Jay Slater has expressed her family's profound grief in a recent message following the discovery of her son's body in Tenerife. Debbie Duncan described the family's ordeal as an 'impossible time' after Jay's body was found in a perilous gorge on the Spanish island on Monday morning (July 15) . She expressed her gratitude for the support they've received in a new message posted on a GoFundMe page on Thursday (July 18).
Debbie also explained how the donations to the fundraiser, which has now reached nearly £60,000, will be utilised. She said that the family hopes to give Jay 'the send off he deserves' . In full, the statement posted by Debbie on Thursday read: "Hello everyone, thank you for all of your kindness, support and condolences in light of the tragic news that Jay's body has been found.
We are overwhelmed with grief and are so grateful for your support. Get the latest news straight to your phone by joining us on WhatsApp "The wonderful team from The Netherlands, Signi Zoekhondon, have remained in Spain all week and have continued to support us since Jay was found. They are due to fly home in the coming days and we are so appreciative of their dedication and support," reports the Manchester Evening News .
"We would like to thank LBT Global for their support during this impossible time. We are working with agencies to arrange Jay's repatriation to the UK and the remaining funds, along with any future donations will be used to help with this if need.
