Jake Gyllenhaal is a big fan of excellent sunglasses and cult classic suits , but who knew he was also a bit of a sneakerhead? Historically, the Road House star's footwear rotation has been filled with lovely derbies and glossy loafers. But this week, he's been experimenting hard with some pretty hype-y trainers , specifically those made in collaboration with everyone's fave workwear label, Carhartt WIP. By Peter Bevan Yesterday, when he was at SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations, the American actor wore a grey polo shirt , a pair of khaki chinos , and the Carhartt WIP x New Balance 990v6 .
Regarded by many as one of the greatest 990v6s ever made, these launched back in October of last year and sold out within seconds of dropping. What made them extra popular was the fact they were painted in the classic brown and grey colour combo, which was made famous by pieces like the Detroit Jacket and the Landon Pants. After showing up at an event of this magnitude, 99 per cent of us would head straight home and jump into our comfiest PJs.
But Jake Gyllenhaal isn't 99 per cent of us (duh), so of course he'd change into an entirely different fit just hours later for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert . With a white vest and a silky pink shirt , the Oscar nominee paired it with the Carhartt WIP x Converse CTAS Pro, featuring hard-to-pull-off mismatched suede uppers. Two huge collabs in less than 24 hours.
If we were Hollywood's biggest sneakerhead , we'd be getting a wee bit worried. Carh.
