ITV show Long Lost Family has made a return with viewers hailing it as "one of the most valuable programmes ever". The series, which reunites separated relatives, launched its newest season with an episode that brought together a birth mother and her daughter after more than 60 years apart. Hosts Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell narrated the emotional journey.

In the first episode of this seven-part series, Roslyn Webb, a woman who had to give her child up for adoption when she was just 16, went on a quest to find the daughter she never saw grow up. The emotional rollercoaster led to a poignant reunion. Ros, who is now 76 and lives in Cornwall with her husband Tony, has no other children.

In her search for closure, she reached out to ITV's Long Lost Family, wishing to reconnect with her long-lost daughter Christine, now known as Lyndsey.
