ITV Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has said he is "absolutely devastated" after being hit by a sad loss. The Corrie actor has paid tribute to Rob Burrow after the rugby league legend died this weekend following a brave battle with motor neurone disease (MND). Daniel, who plays Billy Mayhew, is in the midst of a storyline inspired by Rob's MND battle following Coronation Street character Paul Foreman's diagnosis.
Paul, played by Peter Ash, is Daniel's character Billy's on-screen husband. Daniel said: "I’m absolutely devastated to hear that the legend and MND warrior Rob Burrow has passed today. I send love & positive vibes to Lindsey, Robs incredible wife & also their beautiful children.
It’s been a privilege to get to know them over the last few years. As an ambassador for the @mndassoc we’ll keep fighting. Together we WILL find a cure for this evil disease.
