Wednesday, May 29, 2024 The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has announced its approval for flag-carrier Italian Airlines (ITA) to commence regular passenger flights to the kingdom from its hub in Rome. This approval marks a significant step for ITA, allowing the airline to expand its international reach and serve new markets. With GACA’s approval, ITA will operate five weekly flights from Rome to Riyadh, the Saudi capital, starting June 2 during the summer season.
The new flight route is expected to boost tourism and business travel between Italy and Saudi Arabia, providing more convenient travel options for passengers. This initiative is part of GACA’s efforts to enhance air connectivity and integrate the kingdom into the global network. The approval aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and promote the kingdom as a global hub for business and tourism.
