Mary and Rod Feely in Nepal “How do you describe being that close to the top of the world?” It’s a fair question from Athy woman Mary Feely, recently returned from the trip of a lifetime – journeying on foot from the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu to the fabled Everest base camp. Mary, who’s well-known for taking on a challenge, travelled to the landlocked country in south Asia at the end of March, along with her husband Rod, enduring freezing temperatures and pushing past fatigue to reach the home-from-home for adventurers looking to summit the highest mountain on Earth.
