Colin Holme from the Lakes Environmental Association will lead a workshop on lake-friendly planting and landscaping practices on Tuesday, June 18, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Maine Lake Science Center, 51 Willett Road.
Learn how to create a beautiful shorefront while managing stormwater and maintaining the health of the watershed. The workshop will cover native plantings and landscaping to promote biodiversity, protect water quality, and develop wildlife habitat. On Saturday, June 15, the First Congregational Church will hold a plant sale outside Oberg Insurance at 132 Main St. from 9 a.m.
until noon. Perennials from local gardens available, as well as seedlings, houseplants and garden decor. All proceeds will go to support the church’s Missions Committee projects.
