The 2024 Indigenous Fashion Arts Festival kicked off on Thursday, May 30, at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre with the first of four nights of runway shows. Thursday evening’s event, dubbed “My Tender Bundle” and presented by La Maison Simons, was a demonstration of family justice and radical caregiving. The runway program celebrated the rich cultural expressions of Indigenous peoples from Canada, the U.

S., Brazil, Greenland, New Zealand and Indonesia. The festival also featured a 70-vendor marketplace at the downtown mall and the “Fashioning Resurgence” symposium and workshop series at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Student Learning Centre.
