A woman who lived in Tenerife in her twenties has warned the holiday hotspot has a 'dark side' to it. The island is currently under the spotlight after Jay Slater went missing following a weekend rave on June 17. The 19-year-old, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, is believed to have travelled to an Airbnb with two men in the remote hilltop region of Masca - before calling a friend to say he was lost, in need of water, and that his phone was about to die.

Theories surrounding the bricklayer's disappearance has since shed light on the country's 'drug underworld' - triggering a stark warning for Brits wanting a weekend of sun and booze.
