It's fair to say nobody in the world has perfectly clear skin. We all have blemishes and skin conditions like acne are completely normal, which is why one woman is dedicating her time proving your skin is "perfect" as it is. Maia Gray documents her skin journey on Instagram under the name its_just_acne to help others embrace their bodies.
She wants people to know that many people have acne, so they don't have to go through it alone. Maia also works to show that you can feel confident and fabulous when you suffer with a skin condition. But, even though her account is really positive, some people make cruel comments about her body image .
The social media star, who boasts over 145,000 followers, revealed the types of things trolls say to her because of her skin. Some of the comments she's received include "make-up makes acne worse", "why does she wear make-up? It doesn't cover anything", "she needs to hide her acne" and "your skin is dirty". She shared the candid video highlighting the criticism alongside the caption: "If you’ve ever received unkind comments about your skin, I want to let you know it isn’t your fault.
Ignore what society thinks and be your own wonderful, strong, unique beauty standard. You do not need changing."
