A LUCKY thrifter was thrilled to walk out of a local Salvation Army with a designer fragrance. The perfume has been discontinued, making it a rare find — but the original price was the real jaw-dropper. Reddit user Redboyofgoo showed off his beauty score in a forum dedicated to thrift store hauls.

"Found a perfume still in shrinkwrap for $25," he wrote. Indeed, the photo he included shows a fully sealed box with a $24.99 price tag attached.

He had nabbed himself a bottle of Balenciaga Florabotanica, which he claimed "goes for over $300." The women's perfume, which was launched by the designer in 2012, has been discontinued and is currently only available from secondhand sites. On eBay, listings for the scent are currently as high as $213.

"Seems legit to me because it has this security tag on it from a retailer that sells fragrances here in Canada," he added. Created by Olivier Polge and Jean-Christophe Hérault, the eau De parfum has a top note of mint and middle notes of rose, carnation, and cannabis. Its base notes are vetiver and amber.

When Balenciaga released it over a decade ago, the campaign starred Kristen Stewart, who was still starring in the Twilight movies. Whether the Redditor who bought the bottle actually likes the smell or not is still up in the air. "Haven't taken it out of the shrink wrap so I can't say [if it smells good]," he wrote.
