A man got the fright of his life after discovering a hidden room in his house locked shut with 20 giant screws. He explained how he was moving his belongings into his new duplex when he discovered a crawl space running the length of the house. Interested, he decided to investigate it hoping to unearth some extra storage room for his seasonal items.

However, he became suspicious of the room when he noticed its door was locked shut with "20 giant screws", making him wonder whether there was something sinister on the other side. He said on Reddit : "[It] kinda made a chill run up my spine. So I'm sitting there in this little closet with tension building the whole time.

It took a couple of minutes to take them all out. The door was painted onto the trim, and I had to give it a little boot to break it free." With that, the door fell to the ground all at once and revealed a "little green guy about 4ft tall with stitches across his face" standing on the other side.

He added: "I threw the impact drill, fell over, and about s*** myself all in one uncoordinated motion." After taking a few minutes to calm down, he came to realise it was nothing more than a Halloween decoration - and he'd fallen for a prank set up by one of the property's previous homeowners.
