A NEW mom is feeling mad over the moniker she chose for her newborn daughter. She might love her new bundle of joy, but she isn't as enamored with her name. The mom, Plutarchandpoppies , shared her feelings on a What to Expect forum.
"I take full responsibility for picking my daughter's name. However, I could not settle on a final name after she was born," she said. "I was rushed and I wish I had asked for more time.
I ended up choosing Heidi, and to be quite honest I hate it now," she continued. "I was so afraid to admit it earlier on." As more time passed, however, she only grew to regret the name even more.
"I wish I had given her a prettier - in my opinion - name. It felt odd to say her name and hear it," she said. "I really don’t like the way it sounds.
I know that I don’t want to keep calling her Heidi." She shared how her husband and even family and friends are supportive of the decision to change the little one's name. And this time around, she's taking her time.
Her new favorite names at one point were Emily and Hannah. "Really Emily is my favorite but I’m nervous about making the wrong choice again. This is my second daughter so I feel that makes it difficult too," she said.
"My first daughter's name is Clara and I love it." She also wanted to clarify her change of heart. "I do think that Heidi is a good name and there are so many wonderful Heidi's out there!" she said.
"Honestly, some of those wonderful Heidi's played a part in me originally choosing that nam.
