Food is the best fuel – and one woman is on a mission to prove it. Lizzy High, 22, from North London, is better known as Liz Bites Back to her 419,000 Instagram followers. And she shared an important piece of advice.
The fitness star wants people to know that you don't need to eat less in order to tone up. In fact, adding 400 calories to her diet worked wonders for her body. Lizzy said the increase in calories doesn't mean you'll develop more fat.
Neither will you ruin your progress, or go backwards, as long as you do it in the right way. If you follow some simple rules, she said other people can do the same too. Writing on Instagram, she said: "Unless you go into a calorie surplus (eating over your maintenance calories) then you won’t gain fat. Instead, post fat loss, it’s essential to get your food back up to maintenance.
"So what I recommend doing is a reverse diet, like I did here. This is where you slowly increase your calories each week to limit fat gain but you’ll have more energy, hunger will reduced, you’ll be able to maintain your physique, you’ll feel stronger. Food is fuel.
