South African MMA star Dricus du Plessis has revealed how he got the nickname Stillknocks. Du Plessis was about to debut in the EFC when he realised that he needed a fighter’s nickname. Dricus Du Plessis’ nickname is ‘Stillknocks’ It was his brother who suggested he borrow and adapt the name Stillknocks in reference to the name of a sleeping pill.

The name stuck and has proven appropriate. Du Plessis has won 21 of his 23 professional fights. He has won by knockout nine times and by submission 10 with the judges involved just twice.
